Is a golden retriever the dog for me?

You've decided to get a dog. You know it's a big step for you and your family, but you all agree that you're finally ready for a dog. You want a dog with certain characteristics, looks, and needs...

Whether you have several breeds to choose from or you just want a golden retriever, you definitely need to know this:

DO NOT GET A GOLDEN RETRIEVER IF:

- you are allergic to dog hair

- you don't want to vacuum the house multiple times a day to remove hair

- you don't want a dog's "garbage can"

- you are not ready for the explosion of excitement when you get home

- you are not the type to let a dog sleep in your bed

- you're not the type of person who likes to be "kissed" by a dog

- you have ornamental plants that are poisonous and you don't want to get rid of them

- you have chickens, ducks, turkeys...

GET A GOLDEN RETRIEVER IF:

- you like spending time in nature

- you like to go for walks

- you want a dog that will always delight in your company

- you want a dog that will always be there for you selflessly

- you want a dog that is easy to train

- you want an extremely intelligent breed

- you want a dog that you can leave with your child without any problems

- you want a dog that won't bark too much

- you want a dog that is friendly with other dogs

- you want a dog that likes to cuddle and snuggle up in bed

- are you prepared to vacuum frequently because of hair?

- you are ready for regular combing

EVERY RULE HAS ITS EXCEPTIONS...

As the title itself says, the above is generally true... BUT there are always exceptions. The golden retriever is a dog bred to retrieve feathered game from the water, but over the years its function as a retriever has almost been lost. They still fetch balls, dummies, sticks, Frisbees... But don't be surprised if your dog decides to bring you a neighbor's chicken or a pigeon found in the park. Breeders have to pass a test of natural traits with their dogs so that the dogs can be bred. The main discipline of this exam is the retrieving of wild game while still being shot. Some breeders go a step further and prepare their dogs for a demanding work test in bringing, which, in addition to innate qualities, requires a lot of time, work and effort to master certain disciplines. Parents pass their genetics on to puppies so that even though your puppy is a city dog, trained to walk on a leash, commands, he can turn into an avid hunter in an instant because it's written in his genes!! There is nothing more beautiful than to see a golden retriever running at full speed and with great passion towards the fetch, buy it and return to its owner at the same speed. There is nothing more beautiful than when a golden retriever tirelessly retrieves an object from the water, returning it to its owner and asking for "more".

The popularity of the breed has led to some golden retrievers becoming timid, uninterested in retrieving, and with much less energy and willingness to be active... you won't find such a dog at the Glamour Shine kennel, so if you're looking for one, feel free to continue reading IS "GLAMOUR SHINE" THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER FOR ME here .
